Please see the attached Circular regarding the passing of Mr. Melham Moussa Hanna, the Father of Monsignor Dominique Hanna.

Father David dedicated his life to serving God’s people. He was admired and respected for his kind and generous heart. Now that his heart has stopped beating on earth, it is time for him to enjoy everlasting life in the Father’s home. Father David will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives he touched in his many years of ministry.

During this Holy Week, the Eparchy of St. Maron launches the 1,000 Rosaries for Vocations. God calls each one of us to holiness—through Priesthood, Religious Life, Marriage, and Generous Single Life. Join us in praying the Rosary monthly for existing and future vocations.

At the 2026 Maronite Enrichment Days, Dr. Erin Galgay Walsh will deliver four sessions on St. Ephrem’s Hymns; Jacob of Serugh’s Mēmrā; Jacob of Serugh on the Widow and Her Two Small Coins; and the Syriac Life of the Holy Onesima.

During Lent, we are invited to encounter God in a deeper way through prayer, fasting and almsgiving and to answer our Gospel call to see the face of Christ in our sisters and brothers in need. CRS Rice Bowl is a Lenten faith-in-action program, inviting us to encounter God and our global family by practicing the traditional Lenten pillars and by reflecting on the Eucharist.

We are happy to announce that our MYA Northern Regional Retreat will be held February 28th at the St. John Paul II at the Immaculate Conception Maronite Church in Sleepy Hollow, NY and our MYA Northern Regional Retreat will be held March 14th at the Mary, Mother of the Light Church in Tequesta, FL.

We received the sad news of the passing of Suzanne Wakim, the mother of Fr. Rodolph Wakim, who died in Lebanon Saturday, January 3, 2026. Her funeral will take place at St. Sassine Church in Beit-Mery, Lebanon, on Tuesday, January 6. Fr. Rodolph has taken extraordinary and loving care of both parents and his brother. May they all rest in peace.

We invite you to join us as we prayerfully gather with fellow Maronites from across the United States to march for the unborn, and to witness the sanctity and dignity of human life from the womb to the tomb. The 2026 March for Life will take place on Friday, January 23rd in Washington, DC.

We have received the sad news that Reverend Haickel Paul Boackle entered peacefully into eternal life on December 9, 2025. On behalf of the Eparchy of Saint Maron, Clergy, Religious and Lay Faithful, Bishop Gregory offers his heartfelt condolences to his family and to all who cared about him.

Each year, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates National Vocation Awareness Week, which in 2025 will take place from November 2 to 8. This is a sacred opportunity for our Eparchy to renew our prayer and our commitment to promote vocations to the priesthood, religious life, marriage, and the generous single life.

Mr. Dan Harms, a well-known Catholic speaker, has committed to an October 28th Zoom Meeting in honor of Respect Life Month. Opening and closing prayers by Bishop Gregory.

Bishop Gregory will lead a discussion on the meaning of the Betrothal and Crowning Ceremonies in our Church, and why the concept of Covenant is so important.

May God grant eternal rest to his faithful servant and priest, Fr. Naji Kiwan. Born in Freidis, Lebanon on December 12, 1972, he was the son of Jalil and Chalabieh (Haddad) Kiwan. Fr. Naji is predeceased by his mother Chalabieh, and survived by his father, Jalil, his brother Michel, and sisters Nisrine and Karine.

Chorbishop Joseph Lahoud entered peacefully into eternal life on July 16, 2025, after a long life of service and dedication to the Church and her people. May God grant eternal rest to his faithful servant and priest.

The theme will focus on a journey into faith, purpose, and belonging. The conference will include meals, breakouts, adoration, confession, fellowship and more. 

All of us have a role to play in planting the seeds of vocations as we build up the Body of Christ together. Please continue to speak about vocations and ask young people to pray for their vocations. Help them to ask themselves, how God might be calling them to serve.
