We would like to notify you of the repose of the soul of Marie Nammour.
Marie was the loving mother of Ramona Bou-Mitri and her husband, Mounir; Sub-Deacon Antoine Nammour and his wife, Hitaf; Elie Nammour and his wife, Yolla; and Eliane Yammine and her husband, Elias. She was a cherished grandmother to 12 grandchildren and was blessed to see her family grow to include 12 great-grandchildren.
As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Eparchy of Saint Maron of Brooklyn, I would like to invite you to join me in a special weekend of prayer and thanksgiving on October 10 and 11, 2026.
As we prepare to enter the month of October, I invite all our parishes to observe Respect Life Month in a special way. October provides us with an opportunity to renew our commitment to the dignity and sacredness of every human life, from conception to natural death, and to bring this intention before the Lord in our prayers and liturgies.
Attached you will find our 2027 Eparchial liturgical desk calendar. The Sunday and Holy Day observances, as well as the commemoration of Feast Days of the Saints, are faithfully taken from the official Maronite liturgical calendar prepared each year by the Patriarchal Liturgical Commission in Lebanon.
Bishop Gregory invites us to join him in giving thanks to God for the fruitful mission of Tele Lumiere/Noursat and Caritas Lebanon, and for the many ways both of these ministries continue to serve the Church and the people of the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon, bringing the light of the Gospel, hope, and support to those who need it most.

The Maronite Servants of Christ the Light will be hosting an online Maronite Faith Formation Series on the Season of the Glorious Cross starting Thursday September 10 in collaboration with the Saint Sharbel Spiritual Life Center. The presenter for these three zoom sessions will be Chorbishop Seely Beggiani, former Rector of the Maronite Seminary.
Sister Emily Mary will be making her Perpetual Profession of Vows on December 7 at 7pm at Our Lady of Purgatory Church in New Bedford, MA. This is a joyous day for Sister Emily Mary, her sisters and our Church, as she espouses herself to Jesus forever as bride and a spiritual mother in service to God’s people.
It is our sad duty to announce the passing into Eternal Life in Lebanon today of Mr. Wafiq Naim Eid. Mr. Eid was the Father of Father Ronald Eid, Pastor of St. George Maronite Church, San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Najat Eid, his sons, Nasr, Father Ronald, Joseph and their families. The Funeral Service will take place on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 pm at Saint Georges Church, Mtolleh, Lebanon.
It is our sad duty to announce the passing of Deacon Elias Shami on Tuesday July 28, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his wife Diane, and his four children, Donna, Khalil, Michelle, and Paul. In August 1996, he was ordained a Subdeacon by Chorbishop John Faris, at Christ the King Church in Jacksonville, Florida. In February 2002, Bishop Doueihi ordained him a Deacon at Saint Maron Church in Jacksonville, Florida. he has served with much love and generosity at Saint Maron Church, and will be greatly missed.
We are sorry to announce the passing of Bishop Gregory Mansour's uncle, Gerald (Jerry) James Mansour Sr., at the age of 96 on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Fenton, Michigan. Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan, on December 6, 1929, to Najib and Nahil Mansour. He was the fifth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. He was also preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Albert, Elizabeth, Anthony, Esther, George, and Georgette.
Father David dedicated his life to serving God’s people. He was admired and respected for his kind and generous heart. Now that his heart has stopped beating on earth, it is time for him to enjoy everlasting life in the Father’s home. Father David will be dearly missed by everyone whose lives he touched in his many years of ministry.
