Reverend and dear Monsignors and Fathers, Deacons and Subdeacons, Brothers and Sisters;

I am sorry to inform you of the passing of Bishop Gregory Mansour's uncle, Gerald (Jerry) James Mansour Sr., at the age of 96 on Friday, July 10, 2026, in Fenton, Michigan.

Gerald was born in Flint, Michigan, on December 6, 1929, to Najib and Nahil Mansour. He was the fifth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. He was also preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Albert, Elizabeth, Anthony, Esther, George, and Georgette.

He is survived by his children: Michelle (Ben) Maltese; his son, Jerry Mansour Jr.; his grandchildren, Rachael (Chandler) Brown, Gabriel (Tatiana) Maltese, Nick, Ariana, and Karenna Mansour; his sister-in­ law, Amal Mansour; and his former daughter-in-law, Furhut.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. In 1957, shortly after meeting his wife Frances, they were married on August 3, 1957, and shared 54 years of marriage. Jerry worked for his father at Citizens Market before opening a fruit stand and deer processing center in Flint's north end, with his brother George, and later turned it into a grocery store and laundromat. They later went on to be the founders of Mansour Developments. Jerry was also a founding member of Our Lady of Lebanon Church.

Visitation will take place Friday, July 17, from 3-8 p.m. at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. An Incense Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gerald's Funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church in Flint, with a viewing from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM, the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM, with Bishop Gregory officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Flint, Ml.

We extend our sincere sympathy to Bishop Gregory and to all of Gerald's family and friends. May he rest in peace.
