I would love every parish to begin this good work, which compliments very well our Maronite Faith of the Mountain Catechetial Program, and helps children themselves to lead the Rosary in our parishes. Please do all you can to promote this for our children.

Your Excellency,
Thank you for the opportunity to introduce the Children's Rosary to your parishes. The goal of the Children's Rosary is to support the prayer lives of children and to help them grow in holiness through regular prayer of the Rosary in prayer groups that meet in parishes or schools. These are not isolated groups but they join a tapestry of prayer. Children's Rosary prayer groups have been initiated in 59 countries. We currently have Children's Rosary prayer groups in Maronite Churches in Beirut, Lebanon, and Johannesburg, South Africa. Additionally we have Children's Rosary prayer groups in Maronite Churches in Alexandria, Egypt, and the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Cairo, Egypt. These latter two groups were initiated through the support of Bishop Georges Chihane. Fr. Charbel Obeid plans to initiate Children's Rosary groups in two of his parishes in Germany and the Netherlands. Fr. Yoakim Chihane of Cyprus also plans to initiate the Children's Rosary in his new Church.

The Dicastery of Laity, Family and Life is promoting this initiative as a best practice for parishes. Pope Leo also recently gave the Children's Rosary an apostolic blessing. While steps to begin a group are listed on our website and we have videos to help these efforts, we also have a monthly informational meeting for the US and Canada where individuals can attend and find out more information. The next meeting will be held on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, September 15.
